BioGrid Australia is a not for profit platform for life science research teams to access and share genetic and clinical research data across multiple organisations in an ethically approved and secure way.
BioGrid Australia collects, processes and manages the information collected on this website from participants and patients who consent to participate with the CART-WHEEL project.
BioGrid Australia is structured so that patient identifying and clinical information are kept separate. This means researchers can never know the identity of the patients whose information is stored in the databases unless the participant consents to contact by BioGrid Australia for consideration of participation in a research study or clinical trial. In this case, having received your written signed and dated consent, BioGrid Australia will contact you for a research study or a clinical trial and you may choose to respond to BioGrid Australia confirming that you allow your identified contact details to be responded to the specific researcher.
BioGrid operates under the guidelines provided by the Federal Privacy Act 1988 and Victorian Health Records Act 2001, as well as other relevant laws and policies. Further information is available on our website www.biogrid.org.au.
Upon receiving your consent, BioGrid Australia will code and store information which identifies you and your clinical profile in the Rare Tumour Database. BioGrid Australia will only make de-identified clinical information provided by you available to approved researchers undertaking ethically approved studies. BioGrid does not warrant that your information will be selected for use in any specific research project.

All information provided on this website and associated sites is made available for the convenience of interested persons. Neither BioGrid Australia nor any of its employees, contractors, agents or representatives nor any other person engaged in the CART-WHEEL project represent, warrant or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness or correct sequencing of the information as provided by participants, as coded and stored by BioGrid Australia or as made available to researchers. BioGrid Australia does not represent, warrant or guarantee that errors or defects in the website or in any of the services will be corrected.
Neither BioGrid Australia/CART-WHEEL, nor any of the participants nor any other person providing information to the CART-WHEEL project shall be responsible for any errors or omissions in, or for the use of or results obtained from the use of this information by researchers or any other person.
The website also provides consumer forums to provide peer group support to interested parties affected by rare cancers. Comments made by contributors to these forums do not necessarily represent the beliefs of BioGrid Australia or the BioGrid Australia/CART-WHEEL team and BioGrid Australia does not accept nor is liable for any damage, loss or other harm arising directly or indirectly from the comments, actions or omissions of any contributor to this forum. Terms
- All transactions are processed in Australia Dollars (AUD).
- BioGrid Australia Ltd is endorsed by the Australian Tax Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient.
- Transactions will appear on your credit card statement as BioGrid Australia Ltd.
Donations
Donations over AUD$2.00 are fully tax deductible but are not refundable. A Tax Deductible Receipt will be posted or emailed for all donations over AUD$2.00 within 72 hours of receipt of payment provided that contact details are supplied.
Security
BioGrid Australia uses the latest 128-bit SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption technology. 128-bit SSL encryption is the current industry standard. If you have any questions regarding our security policy, please contact us on enquiries@biogrid.org.au.
Credit Card Fraud
Most banks and card issuers either cover all the charges that result from unauthorised use of your credit card, or may limit your liability to $50.00. In the unlikely event of unauthorised use of your credit card, you must notify your card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.
